Creating & Printing

How is a limited edition print made?

A limited edition is a fixed number of prints at a specific size.  For example, an edition of 100 means that only 100 prints at that size will be printed. Each print will be signed by us and numbered to show the unique number of that impression and the total edition size. Once the edition is sold out, it is closed and no more prints will be made available at that size.  As an edition gets closer to selling out, the price of that edition gets higher.  Our limited edition prints come with a certificate of authenticity which is signed and numbered by Irina.

What type of paper do you print on?

We are using paper of two paper giants Canson and Hahnemühle.

Their paper is considered by many as the finest printing paper in the world.  It is 100% cotton based and has a variety of weight between 310 and 350 GSM. The exact type of paper depends on the idea and style of the image, so we select the best suited type for each print separately (Matte, Semi-Gloss or Gloss, Smooth or Textured, etc).  More details about paper type is on each print description.

How to take care of Art Prints?

We recommend not to remove print from the covering/container it was shipped in until you are ready to frame it.  Paper has a tendency to be fragile, it can wrinkle, tear, and bend, so it needs to be handled with care. For larger prints we recommend being extremely cautious when unrolling the print. Best is to get the larger prints to be unrolled by the framer.  We also recommend mounting on foam board when framing images larger than A3 (29,7 x 42 cm / 11.7 x 16.5 in). Natural skin oils or other contaminants can easily transfer to the print. As a preventative measure, we suggest washing your hands before touching your print. If possible, wear clean, white cotton gloves that are lint free and designed for handling the art.

The colours of the print I got look slightly different as it was on my monitor?

Different monitors display the same colours slightly differently. What you see on your monitor is affected by your contrast and brightness settings, the age of your screen, the light in the room you’re working in. We cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display of any colour will be accurate. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours and images on the Website.

Copyrights & Licenses

What is a certificate of authenticity?

A Certificate of Authenticity is a signed document proving the authenticity of the print and containing details about the artist signature, title, dimensions and edition number, if applicable.  We include a certificate of authenticity with both limited and open editions. We recommend to keep the certificate on the back of the framed print in an envelope.

Can I use any images, prints, materials etc that appear on this Website for my website, business cards, ads, blog or any other application?

No. All images on this site are copyrighted by Irina Mitin. We will take immediate legal action against you on any unauthorized usage or copyright infringement.

Do you license images for commercial purposes?

We license images for commercial purposes sometimes. It depends on what kind of image you want to use. Please contact us here to discuss details.

Do you use photos of other photographers/illustrators in your prints?

Some of our collage prints are made using elements of photos and illustrations of other photographers and illustrators. All such photos and illustrations have either been purchased by us or are licensed to us and we have a legal right to use them in our collages (and sell our collages containing such photos and illustrations) by creating our own unique graphic compositions, each of which has its own elements.
