Framing & Display Options

I offer two gallery-style framing options. You can order Framed (ready to hang) or Unframed (rolled in a mailing tube).🔸 Left: “Canvas — floating frame, no glazing”
🔸 Right: “Fine Art Paper (archival cotton rag) — classic box frame
Same artwork, two archival mediums. Limited editions (25 per size). Signed & numbered.

Quick chooser (1-minute guide)

▪️  Box frame (paper under glass/acrylic) – classic, sophisticated gallery look. Crisp edge, subtle shadow around the artwork. Can show glare in very bright rooms (low-reflection glass/acrylic available at extra cost). Adds ~4–5 cm to overall width/height.

▪️  Canvas + floating frame (no glazing) – lightweight and no glare. Great for larger works (1.5 m+) and light-filled spaces with lots of windows. Adds ~3–4 cm to overall width/height.

▪️  Unframed (rolled) – fastest option if you have a trusted framer or a deadline.

What I print on (archival, either way)

I print on two museum-grade mediums with pigment inks:

▪️ Fine Art Paper (archival cotton rag) – beautifully matte, delicate surface that must live under glass or acrylic.

▪️ Archival Canvas – softly textured, stretched on timber bars; no glazing needed.

Both options are archival; colour and detail are designed to last for decades (up to 100 years). The difference is the vibe (paper = refined, canvas = painterly) and how they’re displayed.

Classic Box frames — For Fine Art Paper

Paper is delicate and must be under glass or acrylic.

▪️ Glazing: glass up to ~1–1.2 m on the long side; lightweight acrylic for larger works (safer for shipping, looks clear).

▪️ Colours: White, Black, Tasmanian Oak/Victorian Ash veneer. Timber grain/tone may vary slightly by batch. Custom colour on request (extra cost & lead time).

▪️ Mat (border): optional. Most pieces are framed without mat; a soft off-white, acid-free mat is available on request.

▪️ Overall size: box frame with glazing usually adds ~4–5 cm to the artwork’s outer width and height.

▪️ Hardware: D-rings, cord — ready to hang.

What it feels like: crisp, contemporary, with a subtle shadow around the artwork. Best for bedrooms, living areas, and spaces with a refined look.

Floating frames — for stretched canvas

▪️ No glazing required.

▪️ Float frame: slim frame around the canvas with a small “floating” gap.

▪️ Canvas edge options: gallery wrap (image continues around the sides) or mirrored edges — I choose what suits the artwork; tell me if you have a preference.

▪️ Frame colours: White, Black, Oak veneer. Custom colour on request (additional cost & lead time)

▪️ Overall size: floating frame usually adds ~3–4 cm to the artwork’s outer width and height.

Look & feel: soft and painterly, no glare, lightweight — ideal for larger statement pieces, huge walls and bright rooms with lots of windows.

Framed vs Unframed (what I ship)

Framed: arrives ready to hang
– Fine Art Paper → box frame under glass/acrylic
– Canvas → floating frame (no glazing)

Unframed (rolled): sent in a protective mailing tube with the instructions for your framer. Please keep the print rolled and avoid touching the surface (fine art paper and canvas are delicate). Take the tube straight to your framer.

Timelines

Most framing is custom-made. Please allow 5–10 business days for printing & framing before dispatch.

If I already have the frame and artwork in stock, framing and checks usually take 1–5 days.

Need it for a date? Leave a note and I’ll confirm what’s possible.

Materials & care (short + simple)

▪️  Archival inks & media: museum-grade pigment inks on archival cotton rag paper or archival canvas.

▪️  Glazing: UV-protective glass/acrylic as appropriate; low-reflection acrylic available on request.

▪️  Construction: acid-free materials throughout; secure backing; D-rings & cord.

▪️  Care: avoid direct, harsh sunlight; dust frames with a soft, dry cloth only.

I use conservation-grade materials throughout and have everything made to order in Australia where possible.

Frame sizes (reference)

About mats (applies to this table)
▪️ Matting is available for standard A-ratio rectangular and square frames only.
▪️ Panoramic formats are framed edge-to-edge (no mat) — mat boards have physical limits in long, narrow sizes.
▪️ Choosing a mat will increase the overall outer size of the frame (add twice the mat width to both dimensions).
▪️ If you choose a mat, I use an off-white, acid-free museum mat; it adds a clean border and slightly increases the overall size.

Standard mat widths

▪️ A3: 70 mm
▪️ A2, A1: 100 mm
▪️ A0: 50 mm (keeps total size and weight manageable at this scale)

Print Size Frame With Mat No Mat
A5 (14 x 21 cm) 25 x 32 cm 16 x 23 cm
A4 (21 x 29 cm) 36.5 x 45 cm 23 x 32 cm
A3 (29 x 42 cm) 45 x 57.5 cm 32 x 44 cm
A2 (42 x 59 cm) 63 x 81 cm 44 x 61 cm
A1 (59 x 84 cm) 80 x 104 cm 61 x 86 cm
A0 (82 x 112cm) 94 x 124 cm 84 x 114 cm

 * Please note, the frame sizes are approximate and could slightly vary.

No mat option
If you choose No Mat, your Fine Art Print is framed edge-to-edge under glass/acrylic for a crisp, contemporary look.

Not sure what to choose?

Email me a photo of your wall and the size of the space, and I’ll suggest the best option (paper vs canvas, frame colour, size).
